By-the Wind Sailor is a very common open ocean organism, living in warm-temperate waters throughout the world’s oceans.   On rare occasions a Southern wind will blow these Jellyfish on to the beaches of Southern California.  Their unique blue color and translucent triangular vane are in and of themselves a beautiful work of art.
