Vasquez Rocks

$4,500.00

Located in the Sierra Pelona Mountains in northern Los Angeles County, California in the town of Agua Dulce, between the suburbs of Santa Clarita and Palmdale.  The park is located on the Pacific Crest Trail which is one of my favorite hiking areas.  It has beautiful canyon areas, highlighted by the magnificent rock formations that have hosted many of Hollywood's famous movies, television shows and commercials.  In 1874, Tiburcio Vásquez, one of California's most notorious bandits, used these rocks to elude capture by law enforcement. His name has since been associated with this geologic feature since.  Although it is considered high desert, this area shows off desert flowers surrounded by beautiful mountain grasses that frame hundreds of small waterfalls during the early spring.
