This seascape features silhouetted surfers and a lifeguard tower against the soft, warm glow of the setting sun.  To me it captivates the meaning of the Gold Coast as the sunlight turns everything gold in color.  While this is a studio painting, it is directly inspired by photographs taken in the evening while camping at Carpinteria State Beach, Ca.  It is painted with acrylic paints on canvas surrounded by a solid hand-crafted (black) wood frame with a gold inner accent.
